Don't try to lose us cause it's right where you'll find us
Don't try to bruise us cause it's right where you bleed
Don't call me a stranger, we're your brothers and sisters
Try to refuse when it's just what you need
Here tomorrow, gone today
We're a part of the secret parade
Here tomorrow, gone today
We're a part of the secret parade
- The Afters (The Secret Parade)
Welcome to a new blog.
This one seeks to promote reflection inspired by the house church movement & Frank Viola's works especially, Re-Imagining Church. The entries aren't limited to his work, but they do serve as the foundation for the "conversations" I'd like to have with each of you.
As the Church, how can we begin to reclaim our New Testament heritage? Clearly this isn't about living as if we were transported back to the first century. Rather, it's about living in the reality of Christ taking, ". . up residence in the believers, thus making [us] (my italics) His temple, His house." (p.13-14, Frank Viola & George Barna, Pagan Christianity: Exploring the Roots of Our Church Practice, BarnaBooks, 2002).
I pray we will rediscover the radical & undeniable power found in an organic expression of the Body of Christ. Will you join me - join the secret parade . . .
